Lakeside Covenant Kids!
At Lakeside Covenant, we value the nurture and training of children and desire to partner with parents to disciple children in their spiritual understanding of God and His boundless love for them!
Children in Worship
At Lakeside Covenant, we believe children in corporate worship enhances the life and the worship of the entire church family. When children are a part of intergenerational worship, they provide a visible representation of the church body and are a depiction of the Lord’s faithfulness from generation to generation. Further, Lakeside Covenant seeks to come alongside families to train our children to grow into humble servants who have been taught the principals and joy of biblical worship. We are committed to assist you as your children grow to glorify God with their lives and enjoy Him forever.
For those who choose to have children in worship, your children are most welcome to check out a Children’s Worship bag or binder to use during worship to help them follow along.
What to Expect
It can be intimidating visiting a new place, but we want to be as welcoming as possible and make you feel right at home. When you arrive, simply visit our Lakeside KIDS check-in station to have all of your questions answered. The check-in station is located right outside of the gym under the covered space.
There will be a volunteer there to help you register your child. Each child receives a safety nametag that matches one that you, as the parent, also get. You’ll need your nametag for pick-up. The Nursery opens up at 9:50 AM, 10 minutes prior to worship starting.
*Inside the gym, the third door on the left, is the Nursing Mother’s Room.
Children in pre-K4 through 2nd grade will worship alongside their family and then be dismissed before the sermon for Children’s Church. The children will return to worship before communion. Children attending Children’s Church should be checked in as well.
Safety
All unlocked entrances are monitored before, during, and after each service. Doors to the nursery and children’s church building are kept locked during each service to prevent any unauthorized person from entering.
During check-in, you and your child receive matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. You must present this tag to the staff or volunteer when picking up your child. If, for some reason, your child were to need you during the service, you will get a text message. We would ask that you exit the Worship Space immediately and meet one of our safety team members at the doors who will direct you to your child’s room.
Good Health
Children should be in good health when entering the nursery. See Our Wellness Policy
Parent Helps
Please label your child’s bag, bottle/cup, etc. Please let us know at drop-off of any allergies or special instructions.
Nursery
On Sunday mornings during worship services, Lakeside Covenant provides a nursery that is an environment of love, safety, and spiritual nurture for little ones (birth through 3 years old).
Children's Church
Children in Pre-K4 through 2nd grade will have the option during the sermon to leave the sanctuary for Children’s Church. The goal of Children’s Church is to help our children understand and participate in what we do in the worship service. Kids will learn the different components of our liturgy at Lakeside Covenant - from the Call to Worship to the Benediction - and how they all bring glory to God. Children will return to their parents just before Communion.
Children in 3rd Grade and Above
We naturally teach our children to love what we love. Dad has a favorite sports team, he dresses in fan wear, he cheers for his team, and he celebrates when they win or mourns when they lose. He talks about it throughout the week with his friends and around the dinner table with his family. Naturally, the children fall in love with this same team and chant the chants and cheer the cheers without ever being explicitly taught. They love this same team because that was what they have grown up around.
We want the same thing for our children with our faith. As Christians, we are devoted to our Heavenly Father, and we long to serve and worship Him. We want the same things for our children. Therefore, we want them in corporate worship (Big Church) with us even from a very young age. We want them to look around during worship and see mom and dad, older brothers and sisters, friends, and neighbors showing their love and worship to our Covenant God. It’s our job to teach our children to worship. Why would we keep them from this great blessing? Therefore, we welcome all children into worship, no matter their age, with open hearts and open hands. As Jesus said, “Let the children come to me…”
