The story of Lakeside Covenant began years ago with a desire and vision for New Hope to be a church planting church that plants church planting churches.
2017
Prayer and Mentorship
Through many years of prayer, the Lord brought Matt Matulia into a mentoring relationship with Associate Pastor David Kelly.
2019 - 2022
Affirmed to Their Calling
The Lord used this relationship to call Matt into the ministry of church planting. Matt began seminary in the Spring of 2019 and graduated in May of 2022.
Matt and his wife Lindsey were affirmed in their calling to plant a church in their hometown community throughout their time in seminary.
2022-2023
Home Groups & Leadership
Beginning in August of 2022, Matt and Lindsey began meeting in their home with a group of people for fellowship and bible study with the hope and vision that the Lord would begin to build a church.
In addition, the Lord has brought a few key leaders into Matt and Lindsey’s life that have been a key aspect in developing the vision, mission, philosophy of ministry, and core values for Lakeside Covenant.
January 2023
Launch Team Formed
In January of 2023, Lakeside Covenant officially established a “launch team” consisting of people whom God has called to be a key part of launching Lakeside Covenant Presbyterian Church.
February 2024
Lakeside Covenant Will Launch!
As of now, it is Lakeside Covenant’s goal to launch as a church plant of New Hope in February of 2024. Lakeside Covenant’s launch team is growing and preparing for what is in store for them as they launch a new church in the east Mount Dora/Sorrento community
When Lakeside Covenant launches on February 4, we will be gathering in the gym at Round Lake Charter School.
